Description

Leckey Mygo Stander Overview

The Leckey Mygo Stander encourages a natural posture for standing therapy for kids ages 4 to 14. After the child grows out of the Squiggles Stander, the Mygo is the natural transition for ongoing standing therapy. This upright posture encourages eye-to-eye interaction with peers, and a list of health benefits including improved digestion, bowel function, and bladder drainage.

The top priority of the Mygo Pediatric Stander is to create pelvic stability while allowing the child's head, body, and legs to be aligned while standing. Keeping the pelvis steady ensures the comfort of the child during this postural therapy. Continuous angle adjustments can be made with its three-in-one design to create prone, supine, or upright positions.

Stander Frame Includes:

  • Polyurethane (PU) chest pad
  • PU knee supports
  • Feet supports
  • Chassis with linear drive angle adjustment

Note: Sizing specifications are found below. Select from two frame sizes - Leckey Size 1 Mygo Stander (ages 4-10) or the Leckey Size 2 Mygo Stander (ages 8-14). The padding and covers are available in blue, pink, or orange. All covers and supportive belts are made of breathable material for optimal comfort and skin health. The covers and supportive belts, padding, and harnesses are machine-washable for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Benefits of Standing Therapy

Five Clinical Advantages

  1. Fixed Hip and Knee Contractors

Leckey conducted extensive clinical trials observing children using standing therapy with kyphotic postures and posterior pelvic tilt. The novel swinging footplate also links movement on the knee support allowing the user to stand fully supported and with both the hips and knees in a flexed position so it removes strain off the hamstrings.

  2. Fixed Hip and Knee Contractors

  3. Reduced Load Bearing on the Patella

Leckey Mygo Stander proprietary V-shaped knee support design (figure 4) naturally gives a proximal fit to the child's knees.

  4. Reduced Load Bearing on the Patella

  5. Improved Upper Limb Function

Prone standing has a contoured chest pad to mimic the shape of the rib cage, allowing the shoulders to move freely. Supine shoulder support with upright head and chest position also lends to free shoulder movement.

  6. Improved Limb Function

  7. Innovative Design Supports Larger Builds

The innovative design used in the prone position will support children with a larger body mass. The knee and foot supports are simply placed for the alignment shown in the image below.

  8. Stander Supports Childen with Larger Build

  9. Clear Tray w/ Clear Insert Option

This optional accessory keeps schoolwork and other communication papers clean and always in place.
