Escali Pico High Precision Pocket Scale - PR500S measures the ingredient proportions needed for recipes, experiments, and diet moderations. The Pico Extra-Sensitive Precision Pocket Scale can hold weight measurements on the screen after the item has been moved away and can automatically shut-off after four minutes of non-use. Along with this display hold feature, the balance also comes with the ability to count and the "Tare" feature.

This scale is small enough to fit in a bag because of its firm form and compact size. It's battery-powered and isn't waterproof. The balance works best at room temperature.

How to Use

Check if the scale is correctly calibrated. After placing the balance on a level surface and pressing the "On/Zero" button, place a penny on the scale. The penny should read 2.5 g. Once the scale has been checked, press the "On/Zero" key again and select the desired unit using the "Unit" key (g, lbs., oz., lbs. and oz.). Place the item on the scale. After measuring its weight, remove the item from the scale and press the "On/Zero" key to turn the balance off.

"Tare" Feature

Users who want to know how much their ingredients weigh without having to subtract the weight of the bowl or container every time can use the "Tare" feature. By pushing the "On/Zero" button after putting an item on the scale, the Pico Digital High Pocket Scale automatically subtracts the weight of that item. Adding ingredients after that won't include the weight of the item or bowl, reducing the amount of math needed while weighing.

Counting Feature

For those who are adding a lot of the same ingredients into a container, they can use the counting feature on the Escali PR500S. After using the "Tare" feature on the container, put 10, 20, or 50 of the same sample sizes of the ingredients into the container. Press the "PCS" button until the right sample quantity is selected. Add the rest of the ingredients into the container while watching the scale's display. The scale will count the individual items using weight.
