Packing the cavity reduces pain and discomfort and aids in faster healing. The gauze strip is made from 100 percent cotton to be safe and gentle to the wound bed. It's also woven to reduce linting. The gauze offers antiseptic properties and is impregnated with Iodoform, an organic crystalline compound from iodine.

The Iodoform gauze is packaged sterile in a bottle to aid in extended shelf life. McKesson designed the bottle with a unique dispenser insert that makes guiding the gauze out of the bottle simple and easy.
