The Hollister CalciCare Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing series helps with wound preparation and healing. It comes in two different varieties: regular and with silver. Both of the CalciCare dressings also come in a rope form that measures 1 x 18 inches. It is designed with natural calcium alginate fibers that are biodegradable. This dressing features a strengthening nylon web that does not compromise the integrity of the dressing when it becomes wet. This helps keep the dressing intact and allows users to achieve a clean, one-piece removal. The CalciCare Calcium Alginate Silver Dressing is highly absorbent and the natural fibers create a conformable protective gel when in contact with exudate.
Both of the wound dressing options are reinforced to help provide easy application and removal. This dressing can be used for people who have serious wounds or superficial wounds. The CalciCare Calcium Alginate Rope Wound Dressing is perfect for packing and covering narrow wounds that exude. Larger wounds can be dressed with options that are 2 x 2, 4 x 4, and 4 x 8 inches in size. These dressings come shipped in boxes that contain five or 10 dressings per box. Because the dressings contain hemostatic properties and aid in autolytic debridement, it helps create a healing environment for wounds covered in this dressing.
