The three-layer system works by transpiring fluid from the wound, retaining enough fluid to maintain a moist environment, and absorbing enough fluid to remove unwanted exudate. The highly absorbent foam core is made of hydrocellular foam that can remain absorbent for up to seven days. The adhesive has been designed to remain securely in place without adhering to the wound with a proven low risk of skin irritation.
