Cuff and Bladder Assembly (1:28 Minutes)
Hello, welcome to ADC's series of instructional videos. In this segment we will discuss the process of inserting a convertible bladder into a blood pressure cuff. In this example, we’l be inserting this complete two-tube convertible bladder into a standard adult blood pressure cuff. To begin, place the cuff on a flat surface faced down with the range markings on the left hand side, locate the opening on the top right hand side of the cuff, it is here where we insert the bladder. The bladder itself is placed on the table surface and rolled into a tube, allowing it to fit easily into the opening on the top of the cuff. The edge of the bladder closest to you may need to be folded over to fit within the cuff. Once inserted the bladder is gripped at the upper right hand corner and given a firm snap with a wrist, allowing the bladder to unroll within the cuff, it may be necessary to repeat this action several times to ensure that the bladder has fully unrolled inside the cuff. Once the bladder is properly aligned within the cuff, the tubing is then threaded through the flat of a material along the edge of the cuff opening, securing the bladder within the cuff. We recommend that you inflate the bladder once before use, ensuring that is fully unrolled and properly positioned within the cuff.
