Description of Sullivan VPAP II Flow Generator:

The ResMed Sullivan VPAP II is the key to ultra-quiet, comfortable bilevel pressure therapy. Designed for the full spectrum of patients suffering from sleep disorder breathing, the VPAP II delivers smooth pressure transitions and a range of operating modes. Like other ResMed bilevel devices, the unit offers adjustable maximum and minimum IPAP (Inspiratory Positive Airway Pressure) time, and an adjustable rise time. The VPAP is also designed to compensate for mouth leaks. A mouth leak interfere's with a bilevel device's triggering sensitvity and can make breathing even more difficult for already troubled patients. Using ResMed's proven IPAP Max technology, the VPAP II counteracts the effects of mouth leaks. Plus the clinician can adjust the device to match the patient's personal breathing pattern. Plus the IPAP Min allows clinicians to adjust the minimum inspiratory time as well.

The VPAP II is also easy to set up and use. A backlit LCD displays all the patient data that a clinician needs to quickly change therapy settings without an external unit and features built-in security features to block patients from changing their therapy settings without clinician supervision. The clinician can also monitor the patient's compliance by recording the number of mask-on hours by the presence of mask pressure downloaded directly or via modem.
