These Bed Restraint Kits are 4 of 12 released by Humane Restraint. They are available as locking or non-locking restraints, and in leather and polyurethane varieties. Whichever option you choose, you are guaranteed the essentials necessary to protect your patients and caregivers. Disposable Fleece Liners are also available for both the ankle (HRTFAL200) and wrist (HRTFWL200) cuffs to prevent chafing and self injury. Read below to find out more. What does each kit include?- One pair of connected Leather or Polyurethane Bed Wrist Restraints (locking/non-locking)
- One Leather or Polyurethane Torso Restraint (locking/non-locking)
- One pair of connected Leather or Polyurethane Bed Ankle Restraints (locking/non-locking)
- A Large Restraint Bag
Each kit is essentially a 5-point restraint system that can be fastened to bed or gurney rails and safely secure an at-risk patient. The wrists and ankles are placed in connected cuffs and a torso strap runs across the chest or knees to prevent rapid or dangerous body heaves or twists. As mentioned above, institutions can opt for a locking style or a non-locking style to best fit their security needs. You can also choose between leather and polyurethane materials. Both are equally strong, but can be used to meet different hygenic needs. Polyurethane cuffs can normally be quickly cleaned by disinfectants and are less likely to transfer biologically unsafe substances from one user to another. Leather restraints are still very safe however, and when properly cleaned and cared for, generate confidence in a caregiver. Always keep in mind that these type of restraints are for use only under direct instructions from a physician and/or at an authorized instituion.
