Drive Medical has put together another great product package for patients looking for ways to reduce/prevent decubitis ulcers. Similar to Drive product DRV14029DP, the Med Aire 8" Low Air Loss Pump and Mattress Replacement System uses high quality materials to deliver therapeutic airflow to the mattress. The mattress has been designed with 20 air bladders, 9 have laser cut low air loss vents in them to keep the patient cool and speed up patient recovery. The bladders are 8" cells, constructed with Nylon/TPU that is soft, lightweight, and will not stretch. The cells are also created as a "cell within a cell" system that prevents the mattress from bottoming out and the patient hitting the bed frame in the event of a power failure. An alarm is also integrated into the airflow system which will warn the patient with an LED and Audible alarm if the air pressure falls below 10 mmHg.Air is delivered and kept at an even pressure with a 8 LPM pump that can work as either a static or alternating pressure device. Though the pump can deliver high amounts of pressure, it is also quiet enough for the patient not to notice during the night - promoting patient recovery and comfort. To make sure airflow is properly delivered, the tubing is spring lined to prevent kinks. And in case of emergency, a CPR emergency valve will quickly release the air from the mattress.A zippered cover encases the mattress and features a heavy weight, TPU material on the outside, and a polyester material on the bottom that is lightweight and durable. The cover is water resistant, vapor permeable, and as a fiber quilted bottom to prevent tearing and excess slipping on the bed frame. The cover is also machine washable for added customer convienence.
