Drive Medical has designed the Med Aire Plus Alternating Pressure Matress Replacement System to meet your patients needs. The Med Aire uses an 8" thick inflatable mattress surrounded by a comfortable, static perimeter that prevents the patient from becoming trapped between the mattress and rails. Plus it also increases patient safety during transfers. The mattress itself has 20 air bladders, 9 of them have laser cut vents with a low air loss function to increase patient comfort. The vents help keep the patient cool and increases healing rates.The Med Aire mattress is constructed with 8" cells that are made from Nylon/TPU that is soft, lightweight, and will not stretch. The cells are designed with another cell inside that holds it shape even when the air is not flowing; thus preventing the patient from bottoming out in the event of a power failure. The mattress also has an integrated alarm that uses both LED and an Audible sound to warn when mattress pressure falls below 10 mmHg. To protect the mattress and make the patient as comfortable as possible, a zippered Nylon/TPU cover material is provided that is heavy weight, water resistant, vapor permeable, and has a fiber quilted bottom. Plus for added convienence, the cover is machine washable to provide great protection and comfort.To inflate the mattress and provide the pressure necessary for comfortable treatments and rest, the Med Aire system uses a high quality pump. The pump provides both static and alternating pressure, and puts out 15 LPM. The specifically designed 3 tube pump and pad system quietly operates the low air loss system while maintaining the integrity of perimeter. Air flows into the perimeter and mattress through spring lined tubing that prevents kinks and helps maintain airflow. And for quick release situations, CPR valves are integrated into the mattress and sidewalls for fast (20 second) air release.Med Aire 8" Mattress System has a 450 lb. weight capacity.
