Which Bariatric Commode Is Right For Me?

The two most important considerations when purchasing a bariatric commode are the dimensions and weight limit. Consider measuring the patient or to determine the commode's needed dimensions. To measure the necessary width, use a tape measure to across the back at the widest part of the patient. For the patient's weight, consider using a scale from Vitality Medical. Note: It is important not to exceed the manufacturer's weight limit for any bariatric commode chair. The next thing to consider when purchasing a bariatric commode chair is the height. If the patient has trouble lifting their body, use a bariatric commode chair with a lower height. Also, look at whether the patient has to move the commode around. If so, they may want a bariatric commode chair that weights less. Finally, look at such features as padding and aesthetics.
